Shonn Wiley STARS IN WORLD PREMIERE OF THE VIEW FROM HERE, PRESENTED BY GLASS BUBBLE PRODUCTIONS AND RELENTLESS PURSUITS IN THE THIRD WEEK OF THE 2005 NEW YORK MUSICAL THEATRE FESTIVAL

A writer arrives in his white-walled, sixth floor walk-up in New York, ready to tenaciously take on the city and get his novel published. Recounting his various misadventures in a series of letters to his love, he is forced to deal with the people he left behind before he can move forward.

Shonn Wiley stars in the one-man musical about creativity and resilience in the face of tragic events. Wiley, who portrayed Younger Brother in the recent critically acclaimed Paper Mill Playhouse production of RAGTIME, has been seen on Broadway in 42ND STREET and DRACULA. Wiley also played Young Josh on the daytime serial "The Guiding Light."

"The show was inspired by a period of time when I couldn't write," says composer/lyricist/bookwriter Timothy Huang. "I lost a friend in the spring of '02 and it wasn't until about twelve months later, after my niece was born, that any kind of music came out, and in a very short time I had written what was to become the finale of THE VIEW FROM HERE." Huang, who received his MFA in musical theatre writing from NYU, won an audience award in last year's festival with his musical AND THE EARTH MOVED.

Director Elizabeth Lucas produces and directs in New York, Atlantic City and regionally, as well as for film. Her twice awarded 15-minute movie musical ISABELLA RICO has played over 30 film festivals. Lucas' production company, Glass Bubble Productions, is dedicated to developing musically driven stories in whatever media best suits them.

Musical Director Eugene Gwozdz just completed a successful run of THRILL ME at the York Theatre. He is Music Director for Donna McKechnie's One-Woman Show GYPSY IN MY SOUL and music directed the 20th Anniversary Revival Production of Maltby & Shire's BABY at Paper Mill Playhouse.

The production team also includes Ravi Best on Trumpet, Dan Ordower (Lighting Design), Valerie Lau-Kee Lai (Stage Manager) and casting by Michael Cassara.

Dedicated to discovering new work and new artists, The New York Musical Theatre Festival celebrates the diversity, creativity, and future of musical theatre. NYMF is a flagship program of the National Music Theater Network, a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization, and is America's largest annual musical theatre event. NYMF is produced in association with Cadillac and Virgin Megastores and proudly supported by amNewYork, The Village Voice, WB11, Receptasign, King Displays, Rosco Lighting, Scharff Weisberg Inc, Dodger Stages, TheaterMania.com, BroadwayWorld.com, broadway.com, HX, Next and Manhattan Living.
