Harry Shearer, voice of Mr. Burns and Ned Flanders in the 'Simpsons,' will star with his wife Judith Owen in their musical Not About the Simpsons on January 18 at Joe's Pub, and on Jan. 21 at the Barrow Street Theatre.

Not About the Simpsons is written by Shearer and singer/songwriter Owen, and the show is presented as part of the annual Association of Performing Arts Presenters Members Conference.

According to press notes, "The show finds Owen focused on Los Angeles, delivering musical storytelling filled with sadness, delight, repulsion and empathy; stories of trophy wives who can't smile for botox; evangelists who dress like hookers and hustlers; waiters and barmen waiting to be discovered, always buff, always auditioning for the drunks and diners of Tinseltown, just in case they're 'someone.' Shearer focuses on Washington and New York, zeroing in on the media bubble that surrounds America, a country in love with two big ideas: its own innocence, and the impossibility of it ever losing, at anything."  Not About the Simpsons was previously seen at the 2006 Edinburgh Fringe Festival.

Shearer has been working for the 'Simpsons' as the voice of Mr. Burns and Ned Flanders, among many others, since the first episode in 1989. He also was a cast member and a writer for 'Saturday Night Live'. Shearer also has his own radio show titled 'Le Show'. He also appeared in several movies, including This is Spinal Tap, For Your Consideration, and Godzilla.

Joe's Pub is located at 425 Lafayette Street and the Barrow Street Theatre is located at 27 Barrow Street at 7th Avenue. For more information visit www.joespub.com or www.barrowstreettheatre.com.
