According to a report in Variety, producer Matthew Byam Shaw, general manager Nia Janis and executive producer Nick Salmon of London's Act Productions are slated to transition from ACT to helm a new venture Playful Productions, a new theater production and general management company.

Based on the Variety report, Act Productions has "recently announced it is exiting the business of general managing legit productions for third-party producers."

Current shows under ACT are the London productions of 'Wicked' and 'Dirty Dancing', as well as Broadway transfers of 'Frost/Nixon' and 'Boeing-Boeing'. Variety also reports that ACT will stay on as co-producer for 'Legally Blonde' and the Broadway-bound production of 'Enron'.

Playful Productions is set to open for business on April 26, 2010.
