Broken by the New York Post this morning is the news that actor Daniel Davis was let go from La Cage aux Folles after the show's matinee performance on March 27. The Post reports that the reason for the dismissel was for "obnoxious offstage behavior."
The show plans to replace Davis with 71 year old stage-veteran, and Tony-winner
Robert Goulet, who last appeared on Broadway in
Moon Over Buffalo in 1996. Prior to that, he appeared in
Camelot (both the 1960 original, and the 1993 revival) and
The Happy Time.
