Sh-K-Boom Releases Kerrigan & Lowdermilk Debut Album, 1/18

Sh-K-Boom Records will release the debut studio album from musical songwriting team Kait Kerrigan and Brian Lowdermilk, entitled Our First Mistake, on January 18, 2011. To pre-order the album, visit http://sh-k-boom.com/ourfirstmistake.shtml.

Featured on the new disc are Tony nominee Kelli O'Hara (South Pacific, The Light In The Piazza) and recording artist Vienna Teng, plus Broadway favorites Michael Arden (Big River, The Times They Are A Changin'), Matt Doyle (Bye Bye Birdie, Spring Awakening), Meghann Fahy (Next To Normal), Jay Armstrong Johnson (Hair), Morgan Karr (Spring Awakening), Laura Osnes (South Pacific) and Natalie Weiss (Everyday Rapture). The album will also feature tracks performed by recording artists Katie Thompson and The Spring Standards, as well as drum programming by Daniel Imana of The Tryptics.

The Kerrigan-Lowdermilk album is the latest in a series of releases from Sh-K-Boom/Ghostlight Records which highlight the new generation of the musical Theatre World, furthering the label's mission to support and encourage new works and writers. Other recent releases in the new musical theatre genre include Joe Iconis' Things to Ruin, Adam Gwon's Ordinary Days, Jonathan Reid Gealt's Thirteen Stories Down, Will Van Dyke's Chasing the Day and Scott Burkell and Paul Loesel's (Sorta) Love Songs.

Kait Kerrigan and Brian Lowdermilk are among the most celebrated young writers in musical theatre. They have received the 2009 Kleban Award, 2006 Jonathan Larson Award, and a Richard Rodgers Award. Their shows, including The Unauthorized Autobiography of Samantha Brown and Henry and Mudge, have been seen off-Broadway and around the country; their songs have been heard everywhere from major New York cabaret venues to the 2009 Miss America broadcast. Ghostlight was created by and for the Broadway community. The label has since emerged as the standard bearer on the Broadway music scene.
