The Weston Playhouse Theatre Company may be located in Vermont, but its heart and soul are in the New York theater community. Evidence of this is the growing list of Broadway regulars who are donating their performances next Monday in New York City Loves Vermont, Broadway Floods the Weston Playhouse With Love: A Benefit Concert.

The producers of the event have announced that Alex Gemignani, Heather MacRae, Debra Monk, Seth Rudetsky, Roger Seyer, Dorothy Stanley, the cast of [title of show], and Lillias White will appear with the previously announced Adam Guettel, Sally Ann Howes, Christopher Lloyd, Cass Morgan, Kelli O'Hara, and Emily Skinner in a one-night-only event at New World Stages on Monday, September 26th.

"The support has been overwhelming," says David Bonanno, who is slated to co-host the event with his wife Charma Bonanno, both Weston Playhouse regulars. "When people heard The Playhouse needed help, the calls and emails started flooding in." Bonanno, who appeared in the Broadway cast of The Light in the Piazza, began by calling his former cast members. "My first call was to Kelli O'Hara, and she said she would do everything she could to help," recalls Bonanno.

The Weston Playhouse, perched picturesquely alongside Vermont's West River, suffered well over $300,000 in damages from Tropical Storm Irene when the river overflowed its banks. The disaster garnered attention from the New York Times and the Wall Street Journal, and inspired a group of Weston alumni to create this benefit concert.
In addition to the performances, there will be a raffle with an array of valuable prizes, from Broadway theatre tickets, to salon services, to unique items available nowhere else. In keeping with the Vermont theme, the first 100 people to arrive at the event will get a sample of genuine Vermont maple syrup from The Brown Family Farm.
