Symphony Space will present its annual gala on Monday May 1 at 7 PM, titled Symphony Space Delivers: A Celebration in Story and Song at The Lighthouse At Chelsea Piers, on West 23rd Street in Manhattan.  The honorary Chairs of the event are actor Alec Baldwin, and Stephen ("The Colbert Report") and Evelyn Colbert. Co-chairs are Steven and Evelyn Alden, Saul and Carole Zabar and Stanley and Judith Zabar.

In keeping with its tradition of honoring artists, supporters and longtime friends of Symphony Space, the honorees include documentary filmmakers D.A. Pennebaker and Chris Hegedus (Don't Look Back, about a Bob Dylan concert tour, and last year's Elaine Stritch At Liberty), who are both also Co-chairs of the Symphony Space Film Producers Circle; Peter Schickele (alias PDQ Bach), Tony Award-winning Broadway star Marian Seldes (Dinner at Eight, Deathtrap, A Delicate Balance), who has performed at many Symphony Space literary events; and Barnes & Noble, a funder of Selected Shorts broadcasts on National Public Radio.  Presenters are to be announced.

The schedule for the evening will be:  7 PM: pre-dinner cocktail reception and silent auction; 8 PM to 10 PM: dinner with a program of awards, readings, songs and a live auction.  Festive dress is required.

Legend tickets are $10,000 for a table of 10 with journal ad, Impresario tickets: $5,000 for a table of 10, Luminary tickets: $1,200 for an individual premier VIP ticket, and Headliner tickets: $600 for an individual VIP ticket.
