Wayne Knight will assume the role of Herman in the hit revival of Sweet Charity for four weeks only from September 20 - October 16 at Broadway's Al Hirschfeld Theatre.

Mr. Knight, best known as Jerry's vengeful neighbor Newman on "Seinfeld," began his Broadway career with a three year run in Gemini in 1979.  He subsequently appeared in Larry Gelbart's Mastergate and as Yvan in ART with George Segal and Buck Henry.  Mr. Knight has appeared regularly in six television series including "Third Rock From the Sun" in which he played Officer Don Orvi.  His numerous film credits include Jurassic Park, JFK, Basic Instinct, To Die For, Dirty Dancing, Tarzan and Toy Story 2.

Rob Bartlett will play his final performance as Herman on Sunday, September 18 and begin rehearsal for the upcoming Broadway revival of The Odd Couple.

Sweet Charity, starring Emmy Award winner Christina Applegate as Charity and Tony Award winner Denis O'Hare as Oscar, performs at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre (302 W. 45th St). The show is directed by Tony Award winner Walter Bobbie (Chicago) and choreographed by Tony Award winner Wayne Cilento (The Who's Tommy, Wicked).

With book by Neil Simon, music by Cy Coleman and lyrics by Dorothy Fields, and based on an original screenplay by Federico Fellini, Tullio Pinelli and Ennio Flaiano, Sweet Charity is a funny, poignant and tender look at the misadventures of Charity Hope Valentine (Applegate), a dance-hall hostess who always gives her heart - and her earnings - to the wrong man.

Sweet Charity also currently stars Janine LaManna as Nickie, Kyra Da Costa as Helene and Paul Schoeffler as Vittorio.
