ScoBar Entertainment is proud to present THE Phoebe Legere QUINTET at Iridium, on Tuesday, December 21, for the opening night of her monthly show, with performances at 8 & 10pm. She will be appearing at Iridium on the third Tuesday of each month (January 18, February 15, March 15...)

Singer/performer Phoebe Legere is not just a singer, songwriter & piano player. She is fluent in both music & art & loves to invent new ways of breaking down the barriers between those art forms, calling her approach "Total Art Synthesis." She is a composer, multi-instrumentalist, poet, painter, songwriter, improviser; she is a multi-format artist who might more accurately be called "The Female Andy Warhol."

After coming to New York at 16, Phoebe became the resident composer for the Wooster Group, the house pianist at One Fifth Avenue & an Epic Records recording artist & songwriter.  She had a successful Carnegie Hall debut & her piano & singing made her the toast of the Hampton's social scene. With a radio hit of her composition "Marilyn Monroe" (Island Records),  her 9-piece band, Swingalicious, played international jazz festivals & all the while, Phoebe Legere kept painting. Her works are currently part of an installation in London.

For the past decade, Phoebe has focused on serious, experimental, classical & world music. Her Blue Curtain (Einstein Records) was nominated as one of the top ten CD's of the decade by Seth Rogovoy. She was nominated for a Pulitzer Prize for her work with the Cleveland Chamber Symphony & released ten CD's of original symphonic, Native American, experimental & French music. She sang four Epic poems on scientific themes (www.roulette.org) While Artist in Residence at the School for Visual Arts (2003), Legere invented an instrument called "The Rap Shoes" for disabled children.  In 2009, she co-wrote another scientific work with Leo Abrahams (Wall Street 2 soundtrack) called Ultra Romantic Parallel Universe (Mercury Records). Her current CD, Ooh, La La Coq Tail is now available.
