Based on user demand, BWW is taking our commitment to arts education one step further with the launch of the BWW Student Center - High School Edition. This directory features upcoming show listings for more than 1500 high schools nationwide with more being added each week. Schools can register for 'enhanced' listings on the site - adding in photos, cast lists, videos, links and more. Productions that take advantage of this will receive highlights on our listing pages, extra editorial mentions and potential spotlight features.

And just like we do with our College Center, each week BWW will be selecting a high-school program and featuring it as our 'School in the Spotlight: High-School Edition'.

Today, BWW is thrilled to announce that Punahou School in Manoa Valley, Honolulu, has been selected as this week's High School in the Spotlight! Punahou School in an independent college preparatory day school founded in 1841, and has an enrollment of over 3,750 students in grades K to 12. The curriculum at Punahou places an enormous importance on the arts, and stresses that its goal is to "make art a self-discovery process, with an emphasis on the journey itself, and to allow students to gain insight into their own abilities."

The school's art program offers students the opportunity to learn visual and performing arts in the classroom as well as participate in after-school activities and performance opportunities. Punahou houses a busy performing arts department with music, dance and theater workshops, after-school clubs and up to 3-4 major productions per year. This past November, middle-school students took to the stage in Disney's 'Aladdin Jr.' with Lucas Cusick playing the titular role, Hunter Uechi as Jasmine, and Summer Derrickson as the Genie.
