Based on user demand, BWW is taking our commitment to arts education one step further with the launch of the BWW Student Center - High School Edition. This directory features upcoming show listings for more than 1500 high schools nationwide with more being added each week. Schools can register for 'enhanced' listings on the site - adding in photos, cast lists, videos, links and more. Productions that take advantage of this will receive highlights on our listing pages, extra editorial mentions and potential spotlight features.
And just like we do with our College Center, each week BWW will be selecting a high-school program and featuring it as our 'School in the Spotlight: High-School Edition'.
Today we head to San Antonio, Texas, where the Fine and Performing Arts Department at William J. Brennan High School takes the honor as this week's High School in the Spotlight! With programs and activities in Art, Band, Dance, Orchestra, Theatre and Vocal Music, Brennan High School prides itself in providing a rich learning environment where students can engage in a challenging curriculum and thrive artistically while learning the foundation of the arts.
Each department runs a host of activities throughout the year, ranging from choral presentations to dance showcases and Theater Productions. The Brennan Theatre Department offers a full season of productions with a range of offerings from musicals to classic works. This year, the department's ambitious production season includes such shows as 'The Tortoise and The Hare', 'Seussical Jr.', 'The Altos' and 'Oedipus Rex' and the upcoming 'One Act Plays' and 'SOAPS: Senior Directed One-Act Plays'.
