Theatre Royal Bath Productions welcomes Richard Schiff, Nigel Lindsay and Lindsay Lohan in David Mamet's SPEED-THE-PLOW at London's Playhouse Theatre from tonight 24th September for a strictly limited run. A high-octane modern classic, SPEED-THE-PLOW is a brilliantly satirical portrayal of Hollywood filled with Mamet's trademark wit and mesmerizing dialogue.

When a hugely bankable star agrees to appear in a sure-fire commercial hit, film producers Bobby Gould and Charlie Fox are convinced this is the break of a lifetime. That is until Karen (played by Lindsay Lohan), a temporary secretary, derails the dream. When she persuades Bobby to dump the blockbuster in favour of a story which can only be described as box-office poison, Charlie is forced to resort to desperate measures....

The stage debut adds to Lohan's long list of credits including starring roles alongside Meryl Streep in PRAIRIE HOME COMPANION and Jane Fonda in GEORGIA RULE and her work with notable directors Robert Altman and Paul Schrader. She is best known for her starring role in MEAN GIRLS with Tina Fey.

Richard Schiff plays Bobby Gould. He is perhaps best known for his career-defining portrayal of Communications Director Toby Ziegler on the acclaimed NBC series The West Wing. He won an Emmy for the role and received three nominations in total, in addition to winning two SAG Awards. Schiff has more recently recurred on multiple television series, including MURDER IN THE FIRST (TNT), MANHATTEN (WGN), HOUSE OF LIES (Showtime), and ONCE UPON A TIME (ABC).

Schiff has repeatedly won critical acclaim for his mesmerizing stage performances. These have included the one-man show UNDERNEATH THE LINTEL on London's West End, the title role in Eugene O'Neill's HUGHIE at the Shakespeare Theatre Company in Washington, D.C., THE CHOSEN at Barrington Stage Company, a recent Broadway run opposite Al Pacino in GLENGARRY GLEN ROSS, and PARFUMERIE at the Annenberg Center in Beverly Hills. He has been the recipient of both an Ovation Theater Award and a Dramalogue Award.

Schiff has also been consistently working in film, recently appearing in the blockbuster SUPERMAN, MAN OF STEEL, the SXSW Audience Award-winner BEFORE I DISAPPEARED and independents FIRE WITH FIRE, DECODING ANNIE PARKER, MADE IN DAGENHAM and the British comedy hit THE INFIDEL. His upcoming films include award season contenders, KILL THE MESSENGER and THE GAMBLER and a cameo in the upcoming ENTOURAGE feature.

Nigel Lindsay plays Charlie Fox. Theatre includes work at the Donmar, the Royal Court, five plays at the Almeida; Mugsy in DEALER'S CHOICE, Nathan Detroit in GUYS AND DOLLS and an Olivier nomination for Shrek in SHREK THE MUSICAL in the West End; THE REAL THING on Broadway; Bolingbroke opposite David Tennant's RICHARD II for the RSC. He is currently starring in A SMALL FAMILY BUSINESS at the National Theatre.

Film includes a British Comedy Award nomination for Barry in 'Four Lions', 'Alpha Papa' and Woody Allen's 'Scoop'. Television includes 'Poirot', 'Spooks', 'The Tunnel', 'Rome', 'Brass Eye', 'Alan Partridge' and 'Relief of Belsen'.

Lindsay Posner has directed more David Mamet plays in the West End than any other director, including A LIFE IN THE THEATRE with Patrick Stewart and Joshua Jackson, SEXUAL PERVERSITY IN CHICAGO with Matthew Perry and Minnie Driver and OLEANNA with Aaron Eckhart and Julia Stiles.

David Mamet, the foremost playwright of his generation, is also the author of GLENGARRY GLEN ROSS, OLEANNA and AMERICAN BUFFALO.

SPEED-THE-PLOW is presented by Danny Moar and Simon Friend for Theatre Royal Bath Productions. Recent West End credits for Theatre Royal Bath Productions includes RELATIVE VALUES (Harold Pinter Theatre), ANOTHER COUNTRY (Trafalgar Studios), RELATIVELY SPEAKING (Wyndham's Theatre) and FENCES (Duchess Theatre).
