ONE CHILD BORN: THE MUSIC OF Laura Nyro
at 7:30 PM; $12
Kate Ferber, an exciting new talent on New York's music and theater scenes, performs a cabaret about nine characters, each of whose lives were touched by late singer-songwriter Laura Nyro's music, which topped the charts in the 60s and 70s. One Child Born takes the audience on a journey of passion, whimsy, humor, and classic songs.

DANNY BARNES: PIZZA BOX CD

Known early on for his work with the seminal Austin alternative country band, the Bad Livers (Sugar Hill), Barnes has developed a profile for himself as one of the most progressive and genre-bending artists of his craft. ‘Pizza Box' comes stuffed with sharp hooks and addictive vocal and instrumental melodies, but it's Barnes skills as a storyteller that shine strong.

IMANI COPPOLA (OF LITTLE JACKIE)

Blend the old-school R&B sound with a quirky hybrid of hip-hop and pop and you get Little Jackie, the creation of genre-defying singer-songwriter Imani Coppola and programmer Adam Pallin. With a nod to the soulful Motown rhythms of the past and a sneer to many of the social and cultural issues that consume the public today, Coppola has crafted an album of musical sugar and spice and bold commentaries. 

Lauren Ambrose & THE LEISURE CLASS
at 9:30PM; $15
Conjuring a unique blend of ragtime Dixieland red hot gypsy jazz, The Leisure Class, fronted by Lauren Ambrose, is the hardest relaxing band in show business. Influenced by their diverse backgrounds in Americana, Folk, Country, Bluegrass, Rock and Roll and Opera, The Leisure Class has proven themselves to be soulful, funky, and at the same time, humble interpreters of song. 

FRIDAY, JANUARY 22

DJANGO-A-GO-GO 2010: WITH BIEL BALLESTER, STEPHANE WREMBEL & SPECIAL GUEST BABIK
at 8:00 PM; $20
100 years ago one of the greatest geniuses in the history of guitar and sole creator of "Gypsy Swing" was born: Django Reinhardt. French virtuoso guitarist Stephane Wrembel, who is at the vanguard of the Gypsy Swing renaissance in the US, plays here tonight with Biel Ballester, a classically trained Spanish guitar virtuoso. Joined by special guest, Babik, this band will have you clapping, dancing, and causing a ruckus.

Alice Smith is, on the evidence of her solo debut, 'For Lovers, Dreamers & Me' (BBE Records), the most promising female singer-songwriter to go her own enrapturing way in a very long time. She was named one of "10 Artists to Watch" in Rolling Stone and has struck a chord through audiences through tours with Citizen Cope and Santogold. 

SATURDAY, JANUARY 23

DJANGO-A-GO-GO 2010: GYPSY GUITAR CLINIC

Students of all levels welcome! All instruments welcome! Take a group lesson hosted by some of today's extraordinary gypsy guitarists: Stephane Wrembel, Maie Bittel, and Babik.

Conrad Korsch CD RELEASE

Join Conrad Korsch as he celebrates the release of his debut solo album "Live Love Leave", performing the CD in its entirety with its full band, plus the Live String Quartet and special guests. Combining the poetic storytelling elements of Tom Waits and Leonard Cohen with the passion of Jeff Buckley and Damien Rice, this album features 13 deeply personal and engaging songs, rich with memorable characters and stories. 

WORLD FAMOUS *BOB*

One man show about a girl *who had to become a drag queen* to learn how to become a woman. The true story of Miss World Famous *BOB*. 

Sutton Foster
at 11:30PM; $30
Sutton Foster is currently staring on Broadway as Princess Fiona in Shrek The Musical, for which she won a Tony Award. Join her as she returns to Joe's Pub for a special preview of her upcoming concert tour featuring songs from her debut solo album "Wish" as well as some new tunes added for her tour. 

MONDAY, JANUARY 25

RATED RSO: THE MUSIC & LYRICS OF Ryan Scott Oliver
at 7:30PM and 9:30PM; $20 in Advance; $25 at the Door
Rated RSO: The Music & Lyrics of Ryan Scott Oliver, is a full night of Oliver's music, performed by an ensemble filled with Broadway darlings. Oliver is a 2009 Jonathan Larson Grant recipient and wrote the music and lyrics for Mrs. Sharp (formerly Alive at Ten), Darling, the song cycle Out of My Head, music for Angus Oblong's The Debbies and music for the YouTube TV show The Battery's Down. This is their final performance at Joe's Pub, so make sure not to miss this
