"For more than seven decades, our Annual Show has been known for the love and laughter that is shared with audiences as we bring together the harmony of the music and of the men who have worked diligently to present a high-quality concert," said Ken Rear, Chorus of the Keys president. "We are thrilled to have guests My Three Sons join us on stage and be a part of our exciting 75th Anniversary Celebration."
Special musical guests and award-winning championship barbershop quartet, My Three Sons, hails from the Sarasota, Florida area and has been entertaining Suncoast audiences for years with their close harmony and unique musical blend. The quartet are also members of the well-known Ditchfield Family Singers who have presented concerts throughout the United States. The quartet members feature father Stephen and his three sons, Nathanael, Michael, and David Ditchfield.
The Sarasota Chorus of the Keys has been entertaining Suncoast audiences for 75 years, having been organized in 1949. The Chorus, consisting of men who are seasonal and permanent Florida residents, is a chapter of the Barbershop Harmony Society (BHS), a not-for-profit organization with headquarters in Nashville, Tennessee. The BHS has chapters in the USA and Canada and is affiliated with barbershop groups in several foreign countries.
As a lifelong hobby, Chorus members love "a cappella" four-part harmony singing and sharing their uniquely American barbershop style with others. Each year, the Chorus and its quartets perform at public and private events, present an Annual Show in February, and compete with other choruses/quartets at Florida State District conventions.
The members of the Chorus are Trustees of the Sheridan E. Brown Scholarship Fund which raises funds to provide scholarships to male High School seniors in public and private schools in Sarasota and Manatee Counties. The students selected have earned outstanding musical achievement and plan to attend college and include a course of vocal music as part of their curriculum.
