On November 8, 2010 at 8pm, AITAF will present a FREE star-studded evening of monologues and jazz to service men and women and their families at Roundabout Theatre Company's American Airlines Theatre.

On Monday, November 8th at 8:00PM, AITAF will hold a star-studded performance for servicemen & woman and their families in honor of Veteran's Day at Roundabout Theatre Company's American Airlines Theatre.  David Cromer will direct, and participants include Eric Bogosian, Susan Sarandon, Dianne Wiest, Reg E. Cathey, John Patrick Shanley, Lauren Ambrose, Jay O. Sanders, Francois Battiste, Saidah Ekulona and the John Batiste Jazz Trio.

The evening consists of a scene and several monologues from modern plays interspersed with jazz, for a SOLD OUT audience of military veterans and current service men and women and their families from in and around the New York City area, as well as a cross-section of the performing arts and civilian communities. The material performed is selected with an eye to what might speak to this particular audience, without being exclusively war-themed or focused.

One of AITAF's main interests lies in erasing the distinctions of what makes one person a soldier and another an artist by exposing two seemingly different communities to the same stories in the hopes that their individual responses will lead to inspired dialogue.

AITAF was created to bridge the gap between the military and the performing arts communities by producing a series of free performances, under the structure of monologues and jazz, for a mixed military and civilian audience. The material performed is selected with an eye to what might speak to this particular audience, without being exclusively war-themed or focused.

Adam Driver is an actor currently performing in Mrs. Warren's Profession at Roundabout Theatre Company's American Airlines Theatre. Prior to becoming an actor, Adam was a Marine with 1/1 Weapons Company 81's Platoon out in Camp Pendleton, CA, and because of his military service he recently formed the nonprofit AITAF (Arts in the Armed Forces) with collaborator and fellow Juilliard grad Joanne Tucker.

Joanne Tucker was most recently seen in Little Doc at Rattlestick Playwrights Theater and Oedipus After Colonus at HERE Arts Center in NYC. Bard and Juilliard graduate. Co-runs Arts in the Armed Forces with Adam Driver.
