Sarah Rice to Perform Two Concerts at the Laurie Beechman Theatre, 6/14 & 6/21

Broadway Concerts Direct is proud to announce 2 great Monday night concerts at the Laurie Beechman Theatre in NYC in June.

On Monday, June 14 at 7pm Sarah Rice & Friends will perform "Music Salon" with Seth Weinstein on the piano.

Starring Sarah Rice (the original Johanna in SWEENEY TODD on Broadway, 2010 Bistro Award Winner, SCREEN GEMS, Songs of Old Hollywood) and her fabulously talented friends join their thrilling voices in an evening of song, from beloved to little-known, but soon to be cherished selections from all over the world, from cabaret, theater and more, perfect for a late spring evening. Composers to be included: Gershwin, Poulenc, Sondheim, Jones & Schmidt, J. Strauss, Ravel, Jerry Herman, and more...

Friends to include: Rich Flanders (Shenendoah, Will Rogers Award), Richard Skipper (2010 MAC Award & Bistro Award Winner), Mark Watson (multiple international award winner), JoAnn Yeoman (Damn Yankees, multiple award winner) and Seth Weinstein, piano. In other words, a party mix of wonderful music guaranteed to touch the heart and delight the spirit.

Then, on June 21 at 7pm, Sarah Rice will perform "Screen Gems, Songs of Old Hollywood." The concert will be directed by Jo Ann Yeoman, with piano by Seth Weinstein, Bass by Ritt Henn, and Drums by Bobby Sher.

Sarah Rice will sing songs chosen from film scores sung by or dedicated to stars and their movie roles in the films of old Hollywood, starting with the silents --Rudolph Valentino, The Sheik, Theda Bara, the original vamp, through Helen Kane (the original boop-a-doop girl), Pola Negri, A Woman Commands, Doloris Del Rio, Revenge, Kathryn Grayson, The Singing Bandit, Jeannette Mac Donald, and a little Yma Sumac thrown in for good measure, and more.

Featuring the music of Nacio Herb Brown, Georges Auric, Moises Vivanco, Nino Rota, Jerome Kern, The Sherman Bros., Byron Gay, Ted Snyder and many others.
