Sarah Megan Thomas, the star of the films Backwards with James Van Der Beek, and Equity with James Purefoy, will appear with Bill Connington, who stars in the recently released film Zombie, based on the novella by Joyce Carol Oates--in a staged reading of Private Lives by theatrical legend Noel Coward. The glittering white and gold-gilded ballroom of a private Eastside club will act as the backdrop for Coward's most beloved play. The evening is produced by Razors Edge Productions.
Variety recently announced the launch of Sarah's new production company, Broadstreet Pictures, with producing partner Alysia Reiner (Orange is the New Black, Sideways). She has been seen on stage, and films The Little Things, and David Auburns' Girl in the Aprk. Bill Connington adapted Joyce Carol Oates' novella Zombie into a solo play that he acted in New York, winning several awards. He then wrote and acted in the film version of Zombie.
Also appearing in Private Lives, are Cadden Jones (Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, Blue Bloods, Law & Order SVU, and Billions), and Marcus Ho (2 Days in New York, The Good Wife, Royal Pains, Law & Order: Criminal Intent). Dev Bondarin (APAC and Prospect Theater) will direct.
Private Lives is considered Coward's most enduring sophisticated comedy, with a theme of enduring love, despite personal differences. Noel Coward was an English actor, playwright and director known for his comedies which feature dry humor, wit and surprising sentiment.
