According to Variety, stage and screen star Sarah Jessica Parker is set to join New Line's NEW YEAR'S EVE. The film will be directed by Gary Marshall, and will include a cast of: Halle Berry, Jessica Biel, Abigail Breslin, Robert De Niro, Ashton Kutcher, Lea Michele, Michelle Pfeiffer and Hilary Swank.

The movie will be set in New York and will involve 'intertwining stories of characters trying to navigate their way through romance on New Year's Eve.' The film will be released on Dec. 9, 2011.

Parker is best known for her leading role as Carrie Bradshaw on the HBO television series Sex and the City (1998-2004), for which she won four Golden Globe Awards, three Screen Actors Guild Awards, and two Emmy Awards. She played the same role in the 2008 feature film based on the show, Sex and the City: The Movie, and its sequel, Sex and the City 2, which opened on May 26, 2010.

Parker has gained respect as a stage actor, having appeared in well-reviewed lead roles in the off-Broadway play Sylvia, alongside future husband Matthew Broderick in How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying, and the Tony Award-nominated Once Upon a Mattress.

Parker has also appeared in many other films, including Footloose, L.A. Story, Honeymoon in Vegas,  Hocus Pocus,  Mars Attacks!,  The Family Stone, Failure to Launch, Smart People, and Did You Hear About the Morgans?
