On November 19, Broadway songbird and small screen star Sara Ramirez performed a special rendition of the holiday classic 'Silent Night' a capella on that night's episode of Grey's Anatomy. Now, her version of 'Silent Night' is available for purchase from iTunes, Amazon, and other online outlets. All proceeds received will be donated to Sara's charity, the Al D. Rodriguez Liver Foundation.
The Al D. Rodriguez Liver Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that provides resources, education and information related to screening, prevention and treatment for the Hepatitis Virus and Liver Cancer.
They seek to educate people about the relationship between chronic infection of the Hepatitis Virus and its association with Hepatocellular Carcinoma (HCC) - which is the most common cause of liver cancer.Ramirez plays series regular orthopedic surgeon Dr. Callie Torres in the popular hospital drama and is joined by stars Ellen Pompeo, Patrick Dempsey, Sandra Oh, Katherine Heigl, Justin Chambers, Chandra Wilson, James Pickens, Jr., Sara Ramirez, Eric Dane, Chyler Leigh, Kevin McKidd and Jessica Capshaw. Grey's follows the lives of five surgical interns, later residents and their mentors in the fictional Seattle Grace Hospital in Seattle, Washington. Winner of two Emmy Awards and two Golden Globe Awards, the show is one of the most watched prime time television series. Grey's airs Thursdays on ABC at 9pm EST.
