After a two-month submission period and hundreds of submissions from around the world, Sanguine is pleased to announce 6 finalists for its annual Project Playwright Competition. The winner of the competition receives a fully-produced world premiere of their play in New York City as a part of Sanguine's 2016 season.

The 2016 finalists are:
Charlie Moose Makes His Move by Jessica Turner Everybody Dies by Molly Rydzel

On January 10th, Sanguine Theatre Company will produce a festival evening of staged readings in New York City with excerpts of the finalists' scripts. Each excerpt is assigned a director and team of actors, and the audience votes on the winning script. This grand-prize winner is announced at the end of the festival evening, and his or her play will receive its world premiere in New York City as a part of Sanguine's 2016 season.

The 2016 festival evening will be held on Sunday, January 10 at Flamboyan Theatre in the Clemente Solo Velez Cultural Center at 107 Suffolk St in New York. The event will begin at 7:00pm, and a celebration will follow. Tickets are $18 when purchased at the door, and $15 when purchased in advance via http://project-playwright.brownpapertickets.com.
