San Francisco General Hospital Foundation (SFGHF) announced today that it will celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Hearts in San Francisco project at the Heroes & Hearts Luncheon and Hearts After Dark on Thursday, February 13, 2014, with twelve new heart designs for the 2014 series. In addition to the eight large hearts and four table top hearts, 15 mini hearts with mosaic designs will be sold to raise much-needed funds for life-enhancing programs and initiatives at San Francisco General Hospital and Trauma Center. The artists selected to create large and table-top hearts for the 2014 luncheon are Shannon Amidon, Christine Arthur, Erica Jasmin Cañas, Patrick Dintino, Charles Gadeken, Brit Howard, June Li, Michael Osborne, Marius Starkey, Emma Webster, and Pop Zhao. The design for the fourth table top heart will be revealed at a later date. The hearts will be auctioned and sold in order to raise money for vital programs at The General. Select large hearts may remain on display in San Francisco's Union Square after the luncheon. Hearts in San Francisco artworks combined with Heroes & Hearts and Hearts After Dark proceeds (2006 - 2013) have raised nearly $10 million for SFGHF.
"The new heart designs and mini-mosaics exemplify the diversity of our community and those served by The General," says Lisa Hauswirth, Co-Chair of Heroes and Hearts and Hearts After Dark. "At this year's events, we look forward to commemorating the 10 year anniversary of the Hearts in San Francisco project and celebrating the important role The General plays to the City and County of San Francisco."
