Reknowned percussionist and Grammy Nominee Sammy Figueroa brings his Cal Tjader tribute band to New York City. Cal Tjader, who combined the celestial sound of the vibraphones with the intricate swinging rhythms of mambo and salsa, recorded almost 80 albums and set the stage for what is now called 'cool' or 'acid' jazz. Sally's Tomato (named after a song Tjader wrote for the film Breakfast At Tiffany's) will perform classics such as The Continental, Soul Sauce, Alonso, Cuban Fantasy, and Mambo Mindoro. For those who love Cal Tjader's music, for those who love to dance and to smile, this midnight show is a hot ticket and a perfect nightcap to an evening out in New York City.
