Saks Houston Celebrates Key to the Cure 2012

At 6:30 PM on October 17th marks the annual Saks Fifth Avenue Key to the Cure Kickoff.  Chairing the 2012 party are Elizabeth and Gary Petersen, Joyce and High Echols and Susan and Mike Plank. During the event, held at Saks Fifth Avenue, Houston Galleria, guests will be able to purchase the annual - and collectible - Key to The Cure T-shirt, designed this year by CancerForward supporter and acclaimed designer Carolina Herrera, with the full price ($35) going to the nonprofit. This kickoff event is also the start of the Saks Fifth Avenue Key to the Cure Charity Shopping Weekend, beginning Wednesday, October 17th at 6:00 pm through Sunday October 21st, from which Saks Fifth Avenue will donate 2% of all sales to CancerForward.

Twelve civic and business leaders, who are also diagnosed cancer survivors, will be honored during the evening as CancerForward 2012 Forward Movers.Saks Fifth Avenue President, Ron Frasch, will be on hand to greet stage, screen, television actress and three-time cancer survivor Tracy Nelson, who will accept CancerForward's Flash Forward Mover Award. CancerForward will also honor The H. Rudy Teichman Family with its first annual Anchor of Strength Award, established to shine light on caregivers, the oft-overlooked population who attend the physical, emotional, and practical needs of diagnosed survivors.
