To coincide with the current exhibition, Post Pop: East Meets West at the Saatchi Gallery, Thomas Crow, author of the new book 'The Long March of Pop' will be 'in conversation' with Richard Cork, award-winning art critic, historian, broadcaster and curator.

Thomas Crow's paradigm-changing book challenges existing narratives about the rise of Pop Art by situating it within larger cultural tides which cover art, music and design. Crow will present an illustrated introduction to his book followed by a discussion with Richard Cork on the rise and continued legacy of Pop Art.

Thomas Crow is the Rosalie Solow Professor of Modern Art at the Institute of Fine Arts, New York University. Formerly Director of the Getty Research Institute in Los Angeles, his books include The Rise of the Sixties: American and European Art in the Era of Dissent

Richard Cork is an award-winning art critic, historian, broadcaster and curator. He has written major books on Vorticism, Art Beyond The Gallery, David Bomberg, A Bitter Truth: Avant-Garde Art and the Great War, and The Healing Presence of Art. Four volumes of his critical writings on modern art were published by Yale in 2003.
