The entire cast of Superior Donuts and representatives of Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS (BC/EFA), will participate in the closing bell ceremony at The New York Stock Exchange. During this most recent fundraising period that ended at the beginning of December, Superior Donuts was the number one fundraising play on Broadway raising over $75,000 to add to the grand total of over $4.6 million raised for BC/EFA.
Superior Donuts tells the story of Arthur who owns a decrepit donut shop in the uptown neighborhood of Chicago. Franco Wicks, a black teenager who is his only employee, wants to change the shop for the better. This comedy-drama, set in the heart of one of Chicago's most diverse communities, explores the challenges of embracing the past and the redemptive power of friendship.
