STOP AND FRISK: PART OF AMERICAN VOICES/FORGOTTEN STORIES is an evening of social justice as seen through the word of the playwright and lens of the camera.
The title to Matthew Widman's play says it all. Based on true accounts his one-act is a deep exploration of the consequences of one of our nation's most contentious policing tactics.
His piece is the foundation of an evening that includes two films: IS ANYBODY LISTENING?: Paula Caplan's powerful documentary about a woman's journey connecting with the plight of war veterans; and IN MEMORIAM, concerning war's collateral damage, seen through the eyes of a 13-year-old girl.
