UPSTAIRS LANDING PRODUCTIONS wraps up the second season of "Standing By with Caskey Hunsader" with a special On The Road edition. Mary Leigh Sturino from the recent national tour of A Chorus Line joins Lauren Kadel of the Young Frankenstein national tour. The episode is now available at www.standingbytv.com/ontheroad.
"Standing By" introduces you to the understudies, standbys and swings helping keep Broadway's curtains up every night. In this episode, host Caskey Hunsader speaks with swings from out on the road as they discuss what it's like to cover multiple roles while touring across the country in this unique and exciting web series.
A CHORUS LINE hit the road once again after the successful Broadway revival in 2006. In the show, Broadway gypsies bare their souls and put their lives "on the line" as they audition for an unnamed Broadway musical. The 1975 show won the Pulitzer Prize and the Tony Award for Best Musical. The score includes "What I Did for Love," "The Music and the Mirror," "At the Ballet" and "Dance Ten, Looks Three."
YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN toured the country for several season's after it's Broadway production. A wickedly inspired re-imagining of the Frankenstein legend based on Mel Brooks' classic comedy masterpiece, the story follows bright young Dr. Frankenstein (that's Fronkensteen) as he attempts to complete his grandfather's masterwork and bring a corpse to life. Together with his oddly shaped and endearing helper Igor (that's Eye-gor), his curvaceous lab assistant Inga, and in spite of his incredibly self-involved madcap fiancé Elizabeth, Frankenstein succeeds in creating a monster -- but not without scary and quite often hilarious complications.
Host CASKEY HUNSADER is no stranger to theater both on and off stage. He is an accomplished performer and stage manager had has worked both in New York and on several national tours. In addition to his performance and stage management work, he is the owner and executive producer of Upstairs Landing Productions, specializing in the development and creation of theater and new media. ULP's first web series, "Fat Guy" is now available at www.fatguyshow.com.
