On Monday morning's edition of TODAY on NBC, it was revealed that for the first segment of 2011's "Where in the World is Matt Lauer", the veteran reporter was found on The Skeleton Coast in Africa.
Lauer traveled to Namibia, Africa, after leaving New York last Friday morning. The Skeleton Coast is the home of spring skiing on sand dunes and exotic animals.
Lauer revealed his location from on the top of a sand dune, which he then skiied down. This desolate part of the world is becoming a haven for extreme sport lovers. The Skeleton Coast, often called the "sands of hell," is trecherous as the sandy shoreline constantly shifts with the winds and dense fog forms off the coast.
