James Gandolfini, who is most known for starring in the HBO hit "The Sopranos", earlier this week in Italy, according to multiple sources. He was 51. The cause is rumored to be a heart attack but no details have been confirmed. The actor was in Italy for the 59th Taormina Film Festival in Sicily, where he was set to join director Gabriele Muccino for a festival event. Below, we remember the stage and screen star.
Earlier today, the New York Post's Michael Riedel wrote: "There was certainly a touch of Tony Soprano in Gandolfini. When he came on "Theater Talk," the show I co-host on PBS, he had one stipulation: Do not talk about "The Sopranos." He was there to talk about "Carnage." When the interview was over, we had to do some fake smiling and nodding for the cameras to use for editing later on. Harden and Davis happily smiled and laughed and nodded. But when one of our producers said, "OK, Mr. Gandolfini, I need you to smile and nod," the actor just stared at him."
He continud that Gandolfini responed with "No f - - king way," and stormed out of the studio.
