W New York - Times Square announced today the launch of Ultimate Encore, a short film written and directed by Alan Cumming, in celebration of the newly renovated Living Room, the brand's signature, see-and-be-seen spin on the hotel lobby. Through the film, Cumming captures the energetic and dramatic designs of the new space, while celebrating its location in the heart of Times Square. Ultimate Encore will also raise money and awareness for pet charity, Broadway Barks, with proceeds from the items featured in the film being donated to the great cause. Check out the short film below!
Ultimate Encore follows Jerry, a stray dog, from the streets of Hell's Kitchen, into the fabulousness of Broadway, as seen through the eyes of an unnamed diva hostess played by Bernadette Peters. It features a number of celebrity cameos from old and new Broadway including Patina Miller (Sister Act on Broadway), Krystal Joy Brown (Motown: The Musical), Carol Kane (Annie Hall, Gotham), Charl Brown (Jersey Boys), and also hosts appearances from renowned fashion designer Cynthia Rowley, fashion model Selita Ebanks, actor Michael Urie and New York socialite Amanda Lepore.
The film was styled by William Ivey Long, Broadway's leading stylist and costume designer, and highlights some of the most famous dogs on Instagram including PS.NY, Ella Bean the Dog, Chloe the Mini Frenchie and Chloe Kardoggian. The newly renovated Living Room plays backdrop to the scenes - a sultry yet playful tribute to the Times Square of the past - from the gilded theaters of the '20s and '30s to the neon-soaked scene of the '70s and '80s. The film also celebrates W's P.A.W. (Pets Are Welcome) policy, which welcomes guests and their pets with special treats and animal favorites.
W New York - Times Square commissioned fashion designer Cynthia Rowley to design limited edition dog bowls and mats for the film. The designer mats will be available for purchase on W New York - Times Square's website with proceeds going to Broadway Barks
