Congratulations, America: You made it through the third and final Presidential debate. And, while we still have to suffer through 15 more days of this nightmarish election, the end is in sight.
On last night's episode of SNL, Alec Baldwin (Trump) and Kate McKinnon (Secretary Clinton) went head to head in a cold open version of the debate, moderated by the episode's host for the evening, Tom Hanks, who took on the role of Fox News Anchor, Chris Wallace.
The candidates started off with the topic of abortion, which featured Trump's graphic description of his misguided definition of late-term abortion, which sounded more like the blocking notes from a community production of Macbeth than a clinical procedure. The conversation then turned to the candidates' policies on immigration; after blustering through a tirade about "bad hombres pouring into our country," Baldwin's Trump responded with "Oh, thank God," when Hank's Wallace informed the businessman that they would have to move on to the next subject.
Throughout the sketch, McKinnon's Hillary-given the freedom to express the full gamut of her emotions, which has been denied her real-life counterpart-oscillated between stunned eye contact with the camera and outright jubilee; as she said in her opening statement, "In the first debate, I set the table; in the second debate, I fired up the grill; and now, I feast."
