As first reported on HollywoodLife.com, a source close to NBC's SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE has revealed that the show is interested in having 24-year-old NFL star Tim Tebow host the show once the current football season comes to a close.
According to the HollywoodLife source, "SNL realizes it would be HUGE ratings and they are hoping he will say yes. Tim just can't and won't be able to do it while the season is still in play."
On the December 17th episode of the long-running sketch comedy show, the cast poked fun of Tebow and his strong religous beliefs. Cast member Jason Sudeikis dressed up as Jesus, who appeared in the Bronco's locker room to take credit for the team's win. If Tebow does eventually host Saturday Night Live, he will not be the first star player to do so. Past NFL hosts include Joe Montana, Peyton Manning and Tom Brady.
On the upcoming January 7th episode of SNL, NBA star Charles Barkley will host along with musical guest Kelly Clarkson. NBC has also announced that actor Daniel Radcliffe will host the show on January 14th alongside musical guest Lana Del Rey.
