The Pekoe Group, the only full-service boutique marketing and advertising agency serving the New York theater industry, celebrates its fifth anniversary on Monday, February 24. Click below to watch a fun video commemorating their work!

Founded in 2009 by Amanda Pekoe, The Pekoe Group provides a superior level of service to a small group of select clients in the theater and related industries. A tight-knit group of nimble, goal-driven marketers competent in both the tried-and-true and the newest advertising tactics, The Pekoe Group specializes in discovering audiences and creating strategic campaigns that are delivered across all platforms including everything from design to media placement to social media to grassroots marketing. In 2009 Pekoe began with 2 1/2 employees and since then the company has grown to its current staff of over 20.

The Pekoe Group's clients have included Natasha, Pierre and The Great Comet of 1812, Nothing to Hide, Murder for Two, Peter and the Starcatcher, Forbidden Broadway, Rock Of Ages, Freud's Last Session, Emotional Creature, and Puppetry of the Penis; as well as theater companies The New Group, Mint Theater Company, and TACT; and cultural institutions including Brooklyn Botanic Garden and Ripley's Believe It or Not! Times Square. Clients of the agency's design work includes Lincoln Center Theater Young Angels, The Eugene O'Neill Center, The League of Professional Theatre Women, and Guy Fieri's American Kitchen and Bar.

Before founding The Pekoe Group, Amanda Pekoe worked in many marketing aspects of the theater industry on such mega hits as Phantom of the Opera, Jersey Boys, Spamalot, Rock of Ages, Inherit The Wind, Slava's Snowshow, and was vice president of business development for a sexy-seductive circus now playing in Las Vegas. She holds a masters degree in performing arts management from Brooklyn College. She is on the board of directors for the League of Professional Theatre Women, the Steering Committee for the Lincoln Center Theater Young Angels, a Young Benefactor for VH1 Save the Music foundation, among other organizations. She values honesty, learning, beauty, and hard work. She believes in human beings and the power of art and culture to transform the individual and society.
