On yesterday's 'The Rosie Show' on OWN, Rosie welcomed the talented cast of the hit Showtime series SHAMELESS. When she was asked who she wanted to have on the show, it was this cast because Rosie says it's the best show on television.
Well known for her role in the film The Phantom of the Opera, Emmy Rossum talked about her childhood in New York City, sex scenes and why she loves playing Fiona Gallagher. Then, William H. Macy took the stage to talk about his early days in the Chicago theater scene (he's old friends with co-star Joan Cusack) and why he's lucky to play the role of Frank, an alcoholic father of six. Next, Jeremy Allen White, who stars as Lip, dished about how he started acting and the strong connection the Gallagher children have on- and offscreen. Finally, Cameron Monaghan, Emma Kenney, Ethan Cutkosky, Shanola Hampton and Laura Slade Wiggins joined the conversation. All the cast members then took questions from a crowd full of Shameless fans.
The Gallagher family return for a SHAMELESS new season on Sunday, January 8, 2012 at 9 PM ET/PT. Season two finds our favorite dysfunctional family braving the heat and humidity of summertime in Chicago, trying to keep cool...and Frank (William H. Macy) out of trouble. Bearing the de facto parent badge/burden, Fiona (Emmy Rossum) spends her nights working at a happening nightclub and her days keeping an eye on Debbie (Emma Keany) and Carl (Ethan Cutkosky) as they run a makeshift daycare center at the house. Meanwhile, brothers Lip (Jeremy Allen White) and Ian (Cameron Monaghan) are toying with the idea of college, while Sheila (Joan Cusack, in her Emmy® Award-nominated role) is still housing Frank and making progress with her agoraphobia. As usual, the motley brood somehow manages to hold down the fort and make sure the bills are paid, the lights are on and there is food on the table.
The series also stars Justin Chatwin, Shanola Hampton, Steve Howey and Laura Slade Wiggins. Based on the long-running hit UK series, SHAMELESS is executive produced by Emmy Award-winning television and film producer John Wells, as well as Paul Abbott and Andrew Stearn. Wells developed the series for American television.
