CMT is packing its suitcases and heading to the Hamptons with an All-American, countrified Louisiana family for a summer vacation when the new series MY BIG REDNECK VACATION premieres Saturday, January 21 at 9:30 - 10:30 p.m., ET/PT on CMT. Hosted by comedian Tom Arnold, the one-hour, 10-episode series follows the real-life, naturally-entertaining Clampet family, born and raised in the South, as they embark on a "fish out of water" experience by visiting a fancy beach rental in the Hamptons for the summer, indulging in the high-end lifestyle of the Upper East Coast and bringing their southern flare to any situation.
The extended Clampet family members on board for this vacation include Chris and girlfriend Aimee, Chris' daughter and Aimee's son and daughter; Jared (Chris' brother) and his fiancé Michelle; Tammy (Aimee's sister) and her boyfriend Tommy; Doug (Chris and Jared's cousin) and his wife Wendy and their two children.
In the series premiere, the family arrives at their multi-million dollar summer rental home ready to experience their summer vacation in fine style. Before they are ready to settle in though, they must adjust the mansion to their liking by replacing expensive wall art with mounted deer heads and holding a bow-and-arrow shooting contest to determine which couple wins the master bedroom for the summer. Even shopping for food is like an expedition in a foreign land as they question their local butcher where they can find rattlesnake to grill. From wine tastings to etiquette classes to polo lessons, this rowdy bunch is ready to show the international jet set vacation destination of the world a good time full of laughs, zany antics and plenty of heart as the North and South become neighbors and really get to know each other.
MY BIG REDNECK VACATION is produced by Pink Sneakers. Kimberly Belcher Cowin, John Ehrhard, Brad Johnson, Lewis Bogach (CMT) and Jayson Dinsmore (CMT) serve as executive producers.
