The film, which opens in select theaters May 1 and in international markets May 11, is an action/comedy filmed in Mexico City. The plot focuses on a career criminal (Gibson) who is nabbed by Mexican authorities and held in a gritty prison where he learns to survive with the help of a 9-year-old boy. Ms. Gossett plays a secretary to veteran actor Bob Gunton’s character, and she shares several scenes with Mr. Gibson and Peter Stormare, notable for his performances in films such as “Fargo,” “The Big Lebowski,” and others.

Since its inception, Shriekfest has offered young and upcoming writers, actors, and producers a chance to have their work screened and rated by peers.
Shriekfest recently announced that it has teamed up with LiveParanormal.com, an online horror and paranormal community, to present Shriekfest Radio. The bi-weekly show airs on www.liveparanormal.com on Thursdays at 10 p.m. EST, 7 p.m. PST, and it spotlights Shriekfest finalists and winners and updates listeners on developments in the horror/sci-fi movie-making community. Ms. Gossett frequently makes appearances on the program to discuss the evolution of the festival and take questions on the submission and award process.
