In today's #Ham4Ham, SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE's Taran Killam sang a parody on "The 12 Days of Christmas" with a HAMILTON spin- "12 Facts About HAMILTON Not Covered In The Show." Check out the performance below!
This afternoon, HAMILTON creator and star Lin-Manuel Miranda tweeted, "Looking for the stops on the Ham4ham shows this weekend. (Ask me why.)" After a fan took the bait and asked him why, he replied, "BECAUSE I'M PULLING EM ALL OUT."
Last year, Lin-Manuel Miranda, the genius behind the new musical HAMILTON, started what has become one of the theatre community's most beloved weekly traditions on Broadway. He invited fellow cast members to join him as he greeted fans outside the Richard Rodgers Theatre before the drawing of the $10 lottery tickets, and they would sing something fun or participate in a Q&A with an unexpected twist. Before long, it grew into a regularly-scheduled pre-lottery performance known as "#Ham4Ham," playing on the fact that Hamilton's face is on the $10 bill.
Fans can now expect to see Miranda introduce a guest performer for a 5-minute show- anyone from rappers to ballet dancers- prior to Saturday evening and Sunday matinee performances. The guest performer is usually a surprise, though Miranda often drops hints on social media before the fact.
The new musical HAMILTON has book, music and lyrics by Tony and Grammy Award-winning composer Lin-Manuel Miranda, who also plays the title role. The musical is directed by Thomas Kail, with choreography by Andy Blankenbuehler and music direction and orchestrations by Alex Lacamoire. HAMILTON is inspired by Ron Chernow's biography "Alexander Hamilton."
