Setting The Stage: Royal Shakespeare Company in New York from The Greene Space @ WNYC & WQXR on Vimeo.

For the first time in its history of visiting the United States, the Royal Shakespeare Company will perform five of Shakespeare's plays in repertory, for a total of 45 performances this summer. The company is presented by Lincoln Center Festival, and Park Avenue Armory, in association with The Ohio State University.

To celebrate this unprecedented repertory event, The Greene Space at WNYC and WQXR will bring together the major partners - the Royal Shakespeare Company, Lincoln Center Festival, Park Avenue Armory and The Ohio State University - for a four-part multiplatform conversation series, Setting the Stage: the Royal Shakespeare Company in The Greene Space. Through this dynamic collaboration, key partners in the production will explore the tapestry of elements and ideas that go into the Royal Shakespeare Company's productions, from set design and costumes, to partnerships and education, and of course, the performers.

WNYC host Leonard Lopate, WQXR host Elliott Forrest, as well as WENDY GOODMAN, Design Editor of New York Magazine, and SCOTT BROWN, Theater Critic of New York Magazine, will host the conversations.

The series will also include an evening dedicated to the exploration and intersections of Shakespeare and radio with renowned actor Rocco Sisto. Additionally, WNYC 93.9 FM will broadcast a special one-hour radio documentary hosted by Elliott Forrest about the Royal Shakespeare Company and its highly anticipated visit to New York City with original interviews with Michael Boyd, the actors and designers. The radio documentary will delve into the work and words of Shakespeare, understanding how both have stood the test of time and are still highly relevant to a 21st century global audience. On the evening of June 30, The Greene Space will also present a short video documentary that takes audiences behind the scenes of the massive undertaking of transporting a theater across the Atlantic.

Admission to all talks is free. Tickets must be reserved by visiting www.thegreenespace.org.

Live video webcasts of all events will be available at www.thegreenespace.org and all participating partners' websites.
