The Sherman Brothers, Richard and Robert, the musical geniuses behind "Mary Poppins," "Chitty, Chitty, Bang, Bang" and "Winnie the Pooh" may have another theatrical success on the way. Prior to Robert's death in March of this year, the brothers composed the words and music for "MerryGoRound," a new Broadway musical which, originally scheduled for Spring 2011, is now anticipating its New York debut later this year, 2013, with producer Jack Stein and director Andrew Belling.

The Sherman Brother's career has spanned five decades and includes two Academy Awards and two Grammy Awards for best score for Mary Poppins and best song, Chim Chim Cher-ee. The Brothers also composed the world's most translated and performed song, "It's a Small World."
Not only will the production feature the last of the Sherman Brother's storied musical scores, but unprecedented state-of-the-art video wall technology that integrates three-dimensional animated performances and scenery with the live actors on stage. The production's stagecraft will be further enhanced through a stunning series of never before seen illusions created by John Gaughan, who has provided stage magic for Disney and Universal Studios.
