STAGE TUBE: Recap - Viva Las Vegas on Last Night's AMERICAN IDOL

On last night's AMERICAN IDOL, contestants travelled to Las Vegas to continue their quest to become the next 'American Idol'. Amid the glitz and glamour (and the Elvis impersonations), some of the toughest cuts so far took place in America's playground, where 70 contestants were whittled down to 42.
The hopefuls formed groups again, and with the help of "the vocal coach from hell," they tried to shine both individually and collectively. But even the groups who made it through Day 1 weren't safe; 10 more groups performed on Day 2, and the judges had to make additional cuts to the first-day performers. "This really sucks, but we have to get down to the Top 40," Jennifer explained. Tears were shed as 28 performers packed their bags. The remaining contestants must be incredible next week to make it to the Top 24...and to America's vote!
