Former 'Today' show host Katie Couric will fill in for GOOD MORNING AMERICA vacationing host Robin Roberts for one week beginning Monday, April 2. Sharing her excitement on her upcoming hosting gig, Couric tweeted, "Serious pressure filling in for the fab @RobinRoberts !" Couric tweeted on Thursday. "Rise + shine! Excited to be back on morning TV next wk, guest hosting @GMA w/ @GStephanopoulos."
Couric left the 'Today' show in 2006 after co-hosting with Matt Lauer for many years. She went on to anchor the CBS Evening News and in June of last year, inked a record breaking $40 million deal with the ABC network. The newswoman has recently been a special correspondent for ABC's news programs including GMA and Nightline. She will be hosting her own syndicated daytime talk show, entitled 'Katie', beginning this September on ABC.
