The wildly popular, modern-day burlesque BROADWAY BARES heads back to Fire Island on June 1, 2013, for a one-night-only edition of BROADWAY BARES FIRE ISLAND: CALENDAR GIRL. For the third year, the sexy men and women of BROADWAY BARES return to the Pines for two intimate performances, presented by Fire Island Pines Art Project and produced by and benefiting Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS. More than two dozen dancers will take the stage in a stimulating strip-a-month journey through the calendar. Inspired by 1999's BROADWAY BARES IX: CALENDAR GIRL in New York City, the Fire Island show will feature several new numbers with some classic CALENDAR GIRL favorites.
For shows at 7 PM and 9 PM at Whyte Hall's Brandon Fradd Theatre, BROADWAY BARES FIRE ISLAND: CALENDAR GIRL will feature the Bares performers in a theatre setting with all patrons seated. The show will be followed by Bares' famous "rotation" where the dancers freestyle dance for individual donations.
All tickets to BROADWAY BARES FIRE ISLAND: CALENDAR GIRL include free cocktails on the Whyte Hall deck a half-hour before curtain. Ticket prices are $75, $100 and $150. They can be purchased online starting today at broadwaybares.com or in the Fire Island Pines Harbor on Saturdays and Sundays 10 am to 1 pm.
Tony Award-winning director and choreographer Jerry Mitchell (Kinky Boots) is executive producer and creator of BROADWAY BARES. Michael Lee Scott returns as director for BROADWAY BARES FIRE ISLAND.
BROADWAY BARES FIRE ISLAND: CALENDAR GIRL is a sexy tease for one of BC/EFA's annual signature events: BROADWAY BARES. For this year's theme, BROADWAY BARES 23: THE UNITED STRIPS OF AMERICA, more than 200 of New York's sexiest and most desirable dancers will discover - and uncover - amber waves and mountain majesties that only Broadway Bares could find. This trip across the fruited plains of America will most certainly be the stuff patriot dreams are made of. Special celebrity guests will be announced at a later date.
