Recently the NYMF production of DEPLOYED the musical gave fans a sneak peek into their rehearsal process. With a soaring pop rock score and set against the epic backdrop of a military base in Baghdad, DEPLOYED follows Emily's emotional journey. Our heroine develops an unlikely friendship with her interpreter, Laila, as she trains Iraqi women. Laila teaches Emily to appreciate others' suffering and to realize the enemy she's fighting is herself. When Emily finally lets go of her inner demons, a secret from the past comes back to wreak its revenge. They cannot forget...but can they forgive? Take a look at the video

THE NEW YORK MUSICAL THEATRE FESTIVAL (NYMF) and Mount Elise Entertainment, in association with Kim Vasquez / Gray Lady Entertainment, are pleased to announce the American premiere of DEPLOYED the musical. With a book, music and lyrics by Jessy Brouillard, music direction by Martyn Axe, and direction by Mindy Cooper, DEPLOYED begins its limited engagement in The Alice Griffin Jewel Box Theatre at The Pershing Square Signature Center (480 W. 42nd Street) on Wednesday, July 16th, 2014.

Performances will be held on Wednesday July 16th at 8:00 p.m., Thursday July 17th at 1:00 p.m., Saturday July 19th at 5:00 p.m., Sunday July 20th at 12:00 p.m. and Tuesday July 22nd at 5:00 p.m. Tickets, which are $25, are on sale now and available online at nymf.org/deployed or by calling 212-352-3101.

DEPLOYED the musical stars Natalie Toro, Ashanti J'Aria, Kyle Robert Carter, Hanna Rose DeFlumeri, Erik A. Gullberg, John D. Haggerty, Collin Lyle Howard, Adam Hyndman, Anna Lise Jensen, Clayton Jones, Janice Landry, Bryant Martin and Nina Negron.

JESSY BROUILLARD is the author and composer of DEPLOYED the musical. He has also written three screenplays: "Slap Me", "Happiness is a Beautiful Parking Spot", and "Prions le Seigneur," and he is currently working on a psychological thriller entitled "The Voices". www.jessybrouillard.com

MINDY COOPER (Director) Mindy Cooper has directed (Soul Doctor, Music In The Night- A Tribute To Jerome Kern, Broadway By The Year 1937, Broadway By The Year 1972), choreographed (Dracula The Musical, 50 Shades - The Musical Parody, Wrong Mountain, Titanic, Five Course Love) and performed (Chicago, Titanic, Beauty And The Beast, Song & Dance, Tenderloin) on Broadway and Off-Broadway. Her extensive regional work as Director/Choreographer has won 10 Bay Area Theater Critics Awards. She has directed numerous readings and workshops and tours, including American Monkey (American premiere), The Thing About Time (CapitolRep), The Gospel According To Tammy Faye, Mars/Venus Live (National Tour), and Still Will Be Heard (Peak Performances).

Martyn Axe (Music Director) has directed, composed and produced music for theater all over the world, including on the West End and Broadway. His credits include Cats, Dirty Dancing, Tarzan, Saturday Night Fever, Mamma Mia, Nine To Five, Frankenstein, Starlight Express, and Trip Of Love.

Kim Vasquez (Co - Producer/General Manager) founded the theatrical producing and general management company Gray Lady Entertainment in 2002. Since then she has nourished the development of numerous plays and award-winning musicals including the NYMF productions of: Therapy Rocks (Directed by Tom Caruso), Such Good Friends (Directed by Marc Bruni), and Emerald Man (Directed by Josh Prince), to name a few. She has worked on Broadway for over 12 years on such productions as Rent, Avenue Q, In The Heights, Irving Berlin's White Christmas, Ragtime, Moon for the Misbegotten and The Price. She is a Founding Producer of NYMF and is currently the Producing Director of Fuzzrocket Media and Entertainment, proud sponsors of the 2014 New York Musical Theatre Festival. Kim is a graduate from the University of Minnesota with a B.F.A. in Acting, The Stella Adler Conservatory of Acting and The Commercial Theatre Institute, class of 2002.
