NYC Ballet announces their winter program, with two programs paying tribute to NYCB Founder George Balanchine, including the return of Prodigal Son and Swan Lake, as well as a reprise of his tragic narrative work La Sonnambula.
In the video, the NY Times highlights the life and work of 24-year-old rising corps member, Claire Kretzschmar, who will dance in all seven performances and appear in five ballets, sometimes dancing in two roles in a night.

Claire Kretzschmar is a member of New York City Ballet's corps de ballet. She was born in Glendale, Arizona and began her dance training at the Academy of Dance Arts in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. She later studied at the Wake Forest Community Ballet and the University of North Carolina School of the Arts. Ms. Kretzschmar began studying at the School of American Ballet (SAB), the official school of New York City Ballet, during the summers of 2006 through 2009, and enrolled as a full time student in 2009. In November 2010 she became an apprentice with NYCB and joined the Company as a member of the corps de ballet in August 2011.
