Actor Michael Douglas, who played inside trader Gordon Gekko in the movie "Wall Street," is currently being featured in an FBI PSA warning against the perils of insider trading.
Michael Douglas has enjoyed tremendous success as an actor since his breakout role in the TV series The Streets of San Francisco, co-starring with Karl Malden. Over the last 40 years he has lent his talents to numerous productions, as both actor and producer, including; One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, The China Syndrome, Romancing the Stone, Fatal Attraction, Wall Street, Basic Instinct, Falling Down, Traffic, The American President, and many others. Mr. Douglas will begin filming Beyond the Candleabra, a biopic of Liberace, in summer 2012.
Mr. Douglas has two Academy Awards. His first was in 1976 for Best Picture as producer for the film One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest and he won again in 1988, this time for Best Actor, for Wall Street. Mr. Douglas has received three Golden Globes, one Screen Actors Guild Award, and a Lifetime Achievement Award from the American Film Institute.
