STAGE TUBE: Meryl Streep's THE IRON LADY Coming to Theaters 12/30

According to the Hollywood Reporter, The Weinstein Company's film, THE IRON LADY, the biopic of Britain's Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher, is set to be released in theaters on December 30, 2011, just before the deadline to qualify for Oscar consideration.

The film stars Meryl Streep, and is directed by Phyllida Lloydut, who previously worked with Streep in 'Mamma Mia!" The film's release will be limited to theaters in New York and Los Angeles on December 30th, and then will expand nationwide on January 13, 2012. According to the rules of the Academy, a film must be released by December 31st in order to be considered for Oscar contention.
