Just last week, the BBC celebrated Holocaust Memorial Day, marking the anniversary of the liberation of the Auschwitz concentration camp by soldiers of the Soviet Army in 1945. For the special event, a medley from Broadway composer Frank Wildhorn's 'Huberman: A Song for My Father' was performed at the candle lighting ceremony, Check out the full perfrmance below!

According to his offical Facebook page:

This piece is born out of a promise Frank made to his father to create a musical based on a Jewish story. It is based on the journey of Bronislaw Huberman, a Jewish Polish violinist remembered for founding the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra (then known as the Palestine Philharmonic) which provided refuge from the Third Reich for nearly 1,000 European Jews. This is the first performance of the music from this song cycle.
