Broadway veteran and GLEE star Matthew Morrison appeared on JIMMY KIMMEL LIVE recently and discussed the upcoming Christmas episode of GLEE. Morrison revealed that he directed the episode, which he described as a "throw back and tribute to the Star Wars Holiday Special and the Judy Garland Holiday Special". The actor described how he called up Star Wars creator George Lucas and was granted permission to have the beloved character Chewbacca himself guest star on the episode.
Morrison is a Broadway vet who created the role of Fabrizio in the musical The Light in the Piazza, for which he was nominated for a Tony Award. His other Broadway credits include A Naked Girl on the Appian Way, Hairspray, The Rocky Horror Show and Footloose.
He appeared off-Broadway in the musical 10 Million Miles at the Atlantic Theatre Company.
His TV and film credits include Dan In Real Life, Marci X, Primary Colors, Numb3rs, Ghost Whisperer, CSI:Miami, Law & Order: Criminal Intent, Once Upon a Mattress, along with currently and arguably most famously, GLEE. His debut solo album received a May 10, 2011 release.
