On last night's DANCING WITH THE STARS, professional dancer Maksim Chmerkivskiy argued with head judge Len Goodman in defence of his dancing partner, professional soccer star Hope Solo. The dancer was particularly upset over Goodman's comment that Solo's dance was her "worst dance" of the competition so far.

Goodman began his critique by putting partial blame for the poor performance on the pro dancer himself. "Don't start all that Maks, 'cause half the fault is yours," Goodman scolded.  "The audience like the effect, they judge on efficacy. I've been in this business for 50 years, my criteria to judge is different to [that of] the audience."

Chmerkivskiy quickly responded, "Well, maybe it's time to get out then."  The comment led Judge Carrie Ann Inaba to admonish him not to be disrespectful to Goodman.

"Everybody's putting a lot of effort in. Everybody on that balcony has been... killing themselves, only to hear your guys' little judgemental comments." Chmerkivskiy argued back. He later told host Brooke Burke Charvet,  "This is my show, I helped make it what it is," and added "The judges will say, 'Hey, this is showbusiness, this is supposed to be fun'. Well, I had fun tonight."

DANCING WITH THE STARS 'Broadway Week' celebration continues tonight with the Results Show.  Tony-award winner Kristin Chenoweth will be performing.  The show airs at 8/7c on ABC.
