On last night's episode of DANCING WITH THE STARS on the ABC network, contestant Hope Solo and her partner Maks once again clashed with the judges over the harsh criticism they received on their Argentine Tango during the semi-final competition.
It was only a few weeks ago that Maks spoke out against the judge's harsh critique of his partner Hope Solo, suggesting that it was perhaps time for judge Len Goodman to retire from the ballroom. On last night's show, the disagreement arose with judge Carrie Ann Inaba. Inaba stopped in the middle of her critique to respond to what she perceived to be a sarcastic smile on Mak's face and commented, "That's fine Maks, you can go ahead and keep smiling." The dancer seemed genuinely surprised by the remark and said the smile on his face was completely genuine.
In the post-dance interview, Solo quickly came to the defense of her partner, "Maks was smiling because we should be smiling," she told Brooke Burke. "So Carrie Ann, thank you, Maks was smiling. This is my partner. Finally, we're happy!" Maks attempted to stop his dance partner from causing anymore damage by placing his hand over his mouth, but there was little he could do to stop her outrage. The pair received an "8" from Inaba when scores were revealed.
Frontrunner J.R. Martinez, suffering from a twisted ankle he incurred during rehearsals, fell from the top of the leader board last night, and his pasodoble did not impress the judges. Ricki Lake and partner Deredk Hough reclaimed their spot at the top of the leader board.
Underdog Rob Kardashian enjoyed a great night in the ballroom, surpassing J.R. and earning first place in the cha cha relay.
Tonight's Results Show will air live at 9:00 pm ET on ABC.
